Nick Diaz Comeback or Retirement?
Nick Diaz’s uncertain behavior in public and his girlfriend’s call for help has put Nick is some serious trouble. Nick was supposed to fight against Vicente Luque at UFC 310 in December 2024. However, Nicks behavior and his girlfriend’s concern has raised a lot for concerns. It’s sure that Dana won’t be happy after getting this news.
The 41-yr old was seen lighting a fire, which raised a fire alarm in the vicinity. Nick was also detained for questioning. During the incident Nick was seen arguing with a passerby woman. Addition to this his girlfriend has raised concern of Nick being a drug addict in an Instagram post. This is serious considering his return in UFC 310 in December 2024. An MMA fighter cannot be involved in drugs and that during the period of his upcoming fight.
Nick disappointment was seen after he loses the fight against Robbie Lawler 3 yrs ago. Since then, he kept his distance from the octagon. His fight in December was supposed to be a comeback fight. According to Nick he has a lot to prove at the age of 41, but considering the mess that has been created, it seems very difficult or next to impossible to see Nick fighting for his comeback at UFC 310.
A recent Instagram post by Nicks girlfriend clearly states that there is something definitely wrong between the two of them. Nicks girlfriend clearly pointed out towards the drugs being the cause of disappointment. She clearly shows her disregards to the drugs. The situation is heated up considering the two matters that have come. Nick can be pulled off from the fight. And if this happens it would be a lot of disappointment.
The immature fire incident and the concern raise by his girlfriend is considered to be serious. No fighter would get into such mess, if there’s a crucial comeback fight fixed. Nevertheless, it’s the decision of UFC management and Dana to come on a conclusion.
Let’s talk, what if this fight happens. Nick Diaz vs Vicente Luque, definitely it would be one of the crucial fights for both the fighters. Vicente Luque has lost his last fight against Joaquin Buckley at UFC in March 2024. Nick Diaz record is 26-10-0 and Vicente Luque record is 22-10-1.
Vicente Luque is seen working hard now, the eagerness can be seen on Vicente’s face, how definitely he needs this fight. It would be a big loss for Vicente if this fight is getting called off. Jorge Masvidal was seen supporting for Nick Diaz. According to Masvidal this would be a Nicks potential return to the UFC 310.
Masvidal was seen speaking about this comeback and definitely needs to sense his division before making a comeback. Masvidal supporting Nick is a big thing and a lot of fans are speaking about the same.
Nick did make his comeback at UFC 266 but lost this fight against the great and mighty Robbie Lawler. This fight took place in September 2021. Nick took almost 3 years to make his comeback. 3 yrs are too much for a fighter to make his comeback.
Diaz is Brazilian jiu jitsu black belts and he trains under Cesar Gracie. But according to Cesar Gracie, Nick is 100% prepared for the Vicente Luque fight. Cesar said he is not in favor of Nick for the fight against Vicente Luque. Cesar has trained Nick since he was a teenager. Such concerns from Cesar definitely raises a concern considering Nicks preparation for the fight.
It would be better if Nick stays away from the octagon for a few more days and then should make his return.
