Well, after the recent fight against Michael Chandler for cancelled, it’s a buzz around the industry and in fans that Conor might retire now.
The past injury happened to him May be the cause of it, but there are speculations that will retire as he has achieved his goals. He is a billionaire now, owns his own brand. Enough money to spend his entire life in luxury.
Nevertheless, money is not the only thing that a fighter would need, therefore the money factor might be axed out. Only thing keeping Conor away from the fight is his injury. The broken toe is hard to recover from. Balance plays an important role in fights, with a broken toe injury it’s just very hard to maintain that balance and to take shots from opponent.
Conor says in his recent interviews that he very much determined to be back in octagon. But his injury is keeping him away from the octagon. He has definitely recovered from the injury, but the confidence in him has been diminished due to the injury.
Chandler said Conor will be a toughest fighter but will also bring a lot of money from the fight. Chandler in recent interviews has also shown his disappointment towards the fight being pulled off.
The amount was about to pull up around 20 million dollars, Conor is a brand, with his supremacy and how famous he is all around the world, is enough to say that there would have been a lot of money, sponsorships and stuff. This would have sold benefited UFC.
The Irish fighter is being seen in his new Lamborghini Yacht; this shows how much fortune he is being able to build. He was recently seen training in his new gym in Iceland. These things definitely prompt his comeback.
But we wish that he recovers from his toe injury soon and makes his return to the Octagon. Fans are waiting for his return. The charismatic he is, the aura he brings, the vibrant he is, no other fighter brings this to the UFC.
All eyes are on the recovery now, let’s just sit back and relax and just wait for the announcement.
April 2016, Conor first announced his retirement, March 2019 Conor announced his retirement but made his return, August 2022 through Instagram Conor again confirmed his retirement, and now on 2033 New Year’s Eve Conor announced Michael Chandler fight. It’s very uncertain and unpredictable to predict the retirement of Conor Mc Gregor.
In a recent post on twitter, Conor confirmed that he might retire, but later deleted the post. His career has been full of his retirement announcements.
It’s been almost 11 yrs now, Conor was signed in 2013, it’s been a long for Conor now. He has achieved greatness and has earned a fortune for himself now. But it’s always up to a fighter to choose when he wants to retire. Looking at his age, he still has some years to go stronger and to dominate his division.
You may never know when Conor might return, but he is definitely not retiring now or in coming years. He is being seen training with other UFC fighters too recently. He might be taking his time to develop what he lacked in, to be on top spot Conor has to be patient enough to comeback stronger than ever, coz dominating his division now won’t be a easy task.
Fighters have up skilled themselves, every fighter has something or the other to prove that they can dominate the division. The era is getting stronger day by day.
Hoping for the best and waiting for Conor’s era.
